Synthesis of Perylenebisimides

The synthesis and photoexcitation of a new zinc phthalocyanine−perylenebisimide pentameric array which contains sterically demanding substituents in the PDI moieties affords a charge-separated state, which has been detected by femtosecond laser flash photolysis.
